- Students were introduced to issues of human rights and justice in India, and how they are covered by different media
- Students wrote a weekly blog on how those issues were covered in their home country (USA) and in their own backyard (Rochester, NY)
- For the final assignment, students co-produced a life narrative of a refugee of the same age as themselves. The produced works were in the form of a film, animation film, poetry, and a song
- Understanding Community Media: Post-graduate diploma module at Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai, India (every October 2013-2016)
- Students were introduced to various types of community media from across the world, and then debated on the idea of “community”
- For the final assignment, students had to write a draft proposal for a community media project, by clearing outlining the community and their media needs
- Media Criticism: Master’s module at KPB Hinduja College of Commerce, Mumbai, India (Autumn 2013, Autumn 2014)
- Students were introduced to various concepts of media and communication theory, as well as examples to be able to critique various forms of media
- For the final assignment, students had to pick a movie or news show and anlayse it critically
- Niche Journalism: Bachelor’s module at KPB Hinduja College of Commerce, Mumbai, India (Autumn 2013, Autumn 2014)
- Students were introduced to magazine journalism and the different components within different magazines
- For the final assignment, students had to write a feature article of a subject of their choice, with the aim of publishing it in a magazine
